
Teachers will…
- Understand the theme of "underrepresented voices" in American history by attending
institute sessions and completing selected readings.
- Select (initially) the targeted American history learning standard from the state
curriculum frameworks that will become the focus for their American history lesson.
- Understand the alignment of their selected standard to the essential question for their
grade level.
- Begin to see the connections between the varied primary source materials (i.e., artifacts,
documents, etc.) at the participating national parks/historic sites and (Boston Public)
library, their grade-level essential question, and their selected learning standard.
- Begin narrowing the choices of national parks/historic sites upon which their lesson will
focus.
- Understand the procedures for requesting the digitization of primary source materials.
