Allison Brings Boston Massacre Alive

On this date, March 5, 1770 the Boston Massacre took place in front of the Old State House. As part of the remembrance of the 237th anniversary of the Boston Massacre professor Robert Allison gave a lecture on Thursday, March 1st at 6:30 PM at the Old State House. A hundred plus citizens, including teachers from our Teaching American History project, packed the hall as Allison brought the event's of March 1770 to life. Allison described how the event was used as propaganda by the Sons of Liberty to help inspire the American Revolution.
Allison's appearance was made possible by the Bostonian Society and featured a book signing of his recently published manuscript, "The Boston Massacre." Available through CommonWealth Editions
